Good that's what people should do. My husband works with Feed Broward and sends those in need, especially feeding homeless, vets and seniors. Unfortunetly his phone rings 24/7.

DeSantis is ok. He will come out good in the next election. That's all these guys care about.

You can't blame Cuomo. NYC population was overwhelmed. You have multiple families that live together. That created huge problems.  But then again he, like others went with what the administration was telling us.

Just remember that we live in the same state but our counties are like different worlds.  Martin County  where you live as of today has had 321 cases and 7 deaths, Broward , where I live 6,243 cases and 279 deaths. That's like night and day, would you agree. So of course we will see things differently.

The bolded is a pretty interesting opinion. I wonder if all those affected by the returning of Senior citizen Covid patients to the long term care facilities (mandated by Cuomo) would agree with you? Did 'the administration' really tell him do that?

You can't blame Cuomo? Let me guess......Trump's fault?

100% Orange man bad!!!

The fact the Cuomo did nothing for months then made the choice to sacrifice old people and act as if he was never notified...how did those 40k ventilators go?

The fact is that Orange man _is_ bad.  That is not in dispute among reasonable folks.

However this is a baseball  board, not a #MAGAT rally or an anti-Trump event, so I'll leave it at that.

Maybe the admins should shut down every single thread at the first mention of politics.

Let's get back to discussing why the head is safest place for a child to be hit by a fastball, shall we?

I had forgotten about that thread, until RJM brought up J H last week and I re-read some of his last posts. It's a classic.

I will not get into politics.  All it does is drive people apart, when we are all in this together, since the virus doesn't care what party you support.  If we are driven apart, then who, exactly, has won?  Not the United States of America.

The irony is that most people are actually on the same page.  Some are saying:  "re-start everything, 99% of people survive this virus."  Others are saying: "we now know a lot more about the virus than we did, there are treatments and ways of dealing with it, we know more about how to prevent its spread and severity."  You can disagree with either of these approaches, but the end result is the same:  most people actually do want things (including colleges) to re-start.

People I know who work in the Cal State system think they were premature.  Almost all professors know that education works better in person; students know that now, too.  Learning remotely kills motivation, fails to provide everyone with access to resources (from labs to libraries), and removes the element of talking to people about their studies outside of class.  Not to mention sports, and the motivation and learning it provides.  Everyone wants colleges to open in the fall, even if all for different reasons.

Not to mention the fully manned 3K bed Covid ready Javits center transformation that was basically ignored by the Governor that shouldn't be 'blamed'. Or how 'bout the Navy medical ship Comfort deployed to NYC? I hear that was really put to great use by cuomo.....

Perhaps 'the administration' that did all this for the Gov of NY told him he shouldn't really take advantage of any of it? Things that make ya go Hum......

Nobody is saying that and it is purely a political statement.

And do you 'reasonable folks' believe that Joe Biden is the answer? Cuz he 'reasonably' doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of even finding a matching pair socks to stroll around in his basement.....Can't wait to see his politically correct choice of running mate!

Good luck in November!

Joe was never my favorite - not even close.

And yeah, I'll agree that the cognitive decline noted by Fox News and others is concerning.

Here's a different approach: University of Notre Dame today announced that it will bring the students back to campus and start classes two weeks earlier (August 10th) than scheduled. They will forgo the October fall break, but will end the semester right before Thanksgiving. Go Irish!

ESPN Host: Notre Dame's

Huh.... I'm guessing the idea is more time outdoors and less indoors.

Go Irish! Way to lead and not fall into the bullcrap. I like how the ND statement addresses not liking the status quo of other colleges and how many were trying to reduce the number of kids on campus. They want all to come and will do in person learning, and also will have remote learning in place in situations. This bodes well for fall sports. Hopefully other schools continue to follow. Take the restrictions off and look at the up to date current data, not the projections. If ND could hold a football game tomorrow night, it would be a sellout.
