Let's give credit where credit is due! Please nominate any player who "Did his job" on the field extremely well this week.

This award will not be given out solely on stats, although consideration will certainly be given to athletes who were "in the zone" and had great stats. I am also looking for the athlete who does the "little things" right, displays leadership, and/or overcomes adversity -- whether from self, opponents, umpires, teammates, fans, bad luck, or whatever. Please reply with your nominations on here or through my website (now up-and-running) CoachTraub.com.

Winner receives a framed Certificate of Achievement, a free copy of one of the preview booklets (Approach, Focus, or Attitude) of my book, Finding Your Peak Performance with Mental Skills Training, a coupon for this book at cost, and a framed poem titled "Do You Want to Be a Champion." This award is UIL compliant.

Congratulations to last week's winner:
Travis Crow of Elkins HS: For the week he was 5-6 with 4 HR and 7 RBI and pitched a CG allowing one run.
Congratulations to last month's winner: Ethan Stuckly

Enjoy your job. Know your job. Do your job!

The MacArthur Cardinals clinched a playoff spot for the first time in 21 years this past Friday.

The team got off to a hot start in district and then fell into a four game slump, but rebounded this week with two decisive victories to secure a playoff spot! All of this has been accomplished without two of their leading players. Starting pitcher/centerfiedler, Luke Hamilton was been lost for the season to a broken finger, and 4 year starting catcher, John Smart has been limited to hitting only due to a knee injury. Smart returns full-time to the lineup Tuesday night.

Truly a strong team mental acheivement by Coach Barry Rose and his Cardinal baseballers.
