camp invite

Just got a call from summer coach that son has been requested to come to showcase camp from a final 4 world sereies team. He is a junior (just started back) 2011 graduate. School is 10hrs from home he is somewhat interested but other choices would be closer. Question is do we go and would this make the closer to home schools gain interest?

You will probably find that hundreds of young men have been invited to the camp. Going there will help fund the coaches, but probably do nothing for gaining interest from anyone. IMHO, unless this school is one of your sons top priorities, it wouldn't be beneficial to anyone but the coach and his banker.

If this Final 4 team IS really interested, then you should eventually be getting plenty of attention from the closer-to-home schools!

If you want to spend the time and $$ for the fun experience, I would do it. But don't do it if you're not really serious about the school, or to think it will attract other schools!
