Harlan has to be one of the fastest teams in this area.. Top of thier lineup has two kids who flat out fly. 6.5 6.6 stuff..
Coach2
This would be spokesperson #1 for the Orioles... I respect your opinion as to not wanting to banter back and forth, but I beleive as a whole this site is geared for the kids and the Parents of the kids to converse, have fun and learn..
As far as us spokeman goes, I don't see the harm in letting people know where the area kids are playing after HS. Although I have no hulks and my eyes rarley pop out of my head, I don't see the problem with a coach giving a kid his props.
I have personally met with kids from this site after they had been cut with their HS teams , worked with them, and am working on finding them a place to play baseball this Summer. More good comes from this site than spokespersons bragging up their teams. You are right about one thing, kids are kids and they need veteran coaches and parents for guidance. You have been down the path with many former players, my feelings are help the ones coming up with all the yrs of knowledge and baseball and experiences from our pasts. Be it on this site or on the field..
now dont get me wrong. i am not here to brag or anyting. i agree i would rather play teams such as mr.caramel, lane, or clemente. Sullivan is in our division.

While Taft may have a solid team, they would be remiss to even talk about their record until they play some quality teams. When they begin beating Lane, Harlan, Clemente, Whitney Young, Von, etc. from their conference, they can brag all they want.
none of those teams are in our conference. i am not doing any bragging

The Whitney Young Sophomore Team defeated Lane Tech today at WYHS 13-1 in a CPS Super Conference Game. Jason Ormond, Freshman RHP was the winning pitcher going 5 Innings for a complete game; 1 Run allowed; 2 Hits; 2 BB; 2 K's. Eric Tab the Center Fielder went 2 for 4; hitting a 2 RBI Home Run in the 3rd Inning and a Double (4 RBI's) to put the first two runs on the board for the Dolphins. Also with 2 hits was the shortstop Gabe Henriques (2 Doubles, 4 RBI) and the 2nd baseman Troy White (2 Singles). The defense was stellar for Whitney Young with Frank Gowder at third and Valmar Jordan at first base, commiting no errors and scoring 13 Runs on 8 Hits. Ormond pitched 3 'no-hit' innings in a 8-1 Win versus Currie High School on April 14; Freshman Nathan Cayman got the save.
This is the second big win for the WYHS Sophomores who defeated Barrington High School 6-4 in Barrington on April 8. Freshman Gabe Henriques was the winning pitcher, going 6 Innings with southpaw Freshman Andrew Platt getting the save. Solid defensive play and key hits (8) made the difference for the Dolphins who traveled to Barrington for the game.

On a pleasant note, I do have high regard for Whitney Young. I watched a Varsity Game and a Soph game and of all the years I have seen Public League Teams, The Young Team we played this year seemed to have tons of talent, both Varsity and Soph. I saw Victor Diaz on Clemente a few years back and though there where some other good players on the team, I didn't see the talent that I thought Whitney Young had this year. It would be really nice if they ahd a few more coaches.

Can't even say your own team is .500 with getting ripped. Ok if it makes you feel better, they are a strong .500 team and that makes an already strong Whitney Young Team better.
.500 is better than lifetime .000 Ant. Watch it someone might step on you.
way to miss the whole point of my post, which was to point out the absurdity of it.
How insecure of a person are you that you have to post and point out that a team they were happy to beat isn't as good as they think. If they feel it is a big win, good for them. There is no need to be a jerk and come and diminish that for them.
Get real, your intentions weren't to talk about your "own team". However, if they were, it's sad that you can't grasp how your comment would be misconstrued as talking ****.
On a totally unrelated note:
Lane 12
Whitney Young 5
Hollis was cruising around 92, but had quite a few walks. A lot of potential there.
In the Whitney Young/Lane Tech game Hollis had 10 walks over 4 innings. He also hit a homerun. When Hollis was lifted after four innings he had thrown over 100 pitches and Whitney Young was leading 5-0.
But it was Lane Tech who got the big win and the CPS bragging rights.
Lots of potential for Hollis, but it is all about mechanics and gaining control.

Clemente 3 Evanston 2
Detroit, how was the umpiring?
lane got hollis for 3 runs...it was not 5-0 when he left...and he hit his homerun for the final whitney run
Still the same old suburban calls. When the game is close......make the calls that will benefit the HOME team.Just like Schuamburg

It was Young over Simeon 7-5 in a Sophomore Super Conference game played on April 25 at Simeon. A clutch hit 2 RBI Double off the bat of Gabe Henriques (Freshman) in the top of the 7th Inning gave the Dolphins the lead. Henriques was the starting pitcher going 4 Innings, allowing 5 Runs on 5 Hits and 2 Errors (5-K, 2-BB and 2-E's). Freshman Southpaw Andrew Platt pitched 2 Innings and Jason Ormond (Freshman) closed the game out getting the Save pitching for three consecutive outs in the bottom of the 7th Inning.
Jack Cinoman (Freshman) was 2 for 4 with a Single and a Home Run. Young scored their 7 Runs on 7 Hits and 8-E's. Simeon scored 5 Runs on 8 Hits and 2-E's.
