I have seen some older threads on CNU here on the boards, but none really went into great detail about the program.

For instance, when I look at their 2016 roster, I see they have 7 catchers listed. Do they also run a JV program at CNU? If not, what is the need for 7 catchers? (there may be other positions like that as well...that one just jumped out at me.)

Thanks

Not trying to criticize CNU at all.

Son and I had the opportunity to visit the campus this weekend and it is VERY nice.  The baseball field is top notch for a D3 program (heck for any program).  It was a school that he wasn't previously considering until taking that walk.

Got home and looked at the roster and noticed that "oddity".  I was just hoping to find someone that maybe had experience there and could shed some light on the program (JV program, coach, etc.)

Buzzard,

We felt the same way.  I was on the campus twice, my son went 3 times.  We live 30 minutes from CNU.  Last time he was there, he got the full tour, etc.  Beautiful campus and facilities.  But we never got the answers you are searching for nor did we get that "butterflies in your stomach" feeling either. My son talked with the HC in person and via email/text a few times.  Just didn't get "that" feeling.  I really hope you find the answers you are searching for and I wish your son the best.

Youngest son is a current player, older son is an alum.  All facilities are excellent (with exception of batting cages).    Academic reputation is growing within State, Admissions has gotten tougher recently.

Historically they have been a highly ranked program.  Changed conferences 2 years ago.  Started 2016 fast were ranked in top 10-15 at one point, but faded down the stretch.  HC has been there a long time, has had some turn over in assistants last 2-3 seasons, that appears to be behind them.

One of the catchers listed is really a DH now and one of the Fr has transferred.  4 Seniors last year, more than that number of freshman are coming in.
