My son was invited 4 or 5 years ago. He went to Puerto Rico. There were 14 boys on the team from different states. We had a great time. He played a lot of baseball and learned a lot from the coaches. he was 13 at the time. The team was 13-15 year olds. We also traveled with an 18 year old team. They played a different team every night in different parts of the island. After every game the host families had food for us or barbecues. The Coast to Coast staff was great. they also organized a trip for the parents that came for a tour of the Bacardi factory.

It really isn't a showcase but it is a great trip, you will make some great friends, and will learn a lot from the coaches. When we went they also told us to bring baseball items from the states because the boys like to trade. My son traded for some baseball shirts and other baseball items.

I could go on and on. If you can afford it, go.
You've got to go. The program is excellent.
I just got back from puerto rico with coast to coast. The coaches are great. The competision is great. Coast to coast go's a number of places. Ther even going to japan within next year. Great baseball, nice hotels tostay in, meet new people and players, meet great coaches.
They also have a showcase in florida every year.
Coast to coast is a great program! Coasttocoastathletics.com
We have had many invitations to try out for Coast to Coast. We know folks who have gone on trips with them and had very good times.

We have not gone to any Cost to Coast events thinking that for the dollar, we had to ask ourselves how many college coaches or scouts will see you, or is the dollar better spent going to high profile tournaments in the states or high profile showcase and going on a good vacation without baseball.

My two cents....
When my son tried out in 2002, it was not advertised as a showcase. They did promote that the boys are coached and trained by college coaches (which they were). All of the coaches were friendly and socialized with the parents in the evening educating them on recruiting process, where and when we get involved, what they are looking for in a player and what the boys need to do at the next level. Like I said, I don't know how many teams go now but we were only one team of 14 boys 13-15 years old. They received a lot of attention, they were on TV. It was a great trip. We won 5 of our 6 games.
I think we had to pay for the flight but once we got to the island the hotel, transportation, and meals were included in the price that they charged each player. they also received 2 different color uniforms (pants & vests, real nice), 2 button baseball shirts, 2 t-shirts, baseball cap, colored dress shirt, duffle bag. it was mailed to the house prior to the trip.
Pop Time: Coast to Coast does not usually use lists for the most part. Someone has to make a recommendation. I've been to two tryouts and they are not to be taken for granted - I have seen more than one good player not offered a spot.

The only other comment I can add is that from what I have seen - there has only been positive feedback on these boards. It is a first class organization.
