Wonder if you guys aware of "exceptions" covering college transfers Div1 to Div 1(conferences).
REASON:
-Academically wrong fit
-Current (NLI) athlete wants to play baseball in a new school right away
-Wants to move to a school that has his desired major and closer to his home.

Does he want to continue to play ball? Are you looking for "exceptions" to sitting out one year at the new school?
He will have to sit out a full year once he is enrolled at new school (DI to DI). He can transfer to a JC & transfer from there without sitting out.

YES! Is there any? Besides going down to div3? Yes still play ball!

Its a good advice. How to find a good baseball JC? is there a list of good baseball and academics JC?
He can also transfer to a DII, DIII & NAIA schools without sitting out. Any of those three options would prevent him from re entering DI.
There are many JC options, here is a list to the top 50 from last year according PG USA.

When you hear about athletes transferring from D1 to D1 without sitting out they've graduated. They have a year of eligibility remaining. The first college doesn't have the athletes grad school major.
