My son, as has been documented on this site, has dealt with some shoulder issues. He was cleared about a month ago to start throwing and to continue physical therapy. He hasn't been in a game since April or on the mound or in a batting age. He is gonna hit the mound this weekend and see how he feels and how rusty he looks. He has been throwing the football with no issues. Anyway, He has been communicating with a coach at a college that he has a bit of interest in attending. The coach asked him to come to a camp next weekend, 1 day camp very inexpensive. My question is...My son is obviously gonna be rusty. Is it a smart decision to go? If not, what do we tell the coach? He didn't commit to the camp just said he would try to attend. I have him a couple hitting lessons for him next but I don't feel it will be enough. Also being a 6'4 lefty I would hate for him to have a bad showing on the mound since he hasn't done any mound work. How do we handle this?
