Dear HSWebers
Does anyone have experience when college coaches visit HS baseball canidate during the varsity season? Reason I ask an assistant coach asked my son for his HS Baseball schedule and was suprise they will try to visit a game during the season especially if there are other potential canidates playing in the area or on the competing team.

My question is do the coaches from college alert the HS coach and/or canidate about the posssibility of their attendace? I have seen pro scouts but you pick them out with note boos and radar guns.

I am sure they call the HS school coach to insure the game is still being played and the player is in lineup especially if they are looking at a pitcher.I am going to ask the varsity coach waht his experience .Thanks for you input in this matter.

They are easy to spot. The college coaches will be wearing polo shirts and khaki shorts .... pro scouts will be wearing polo shirts and khaki pants! rotlaugh To me they were easy to spot! bgrroll

Seriously, in our experience the college coaches never called us ahead of time, though they may have called the coach. The pro scouts would contact us and sometimes the coach to verify when son would be pitching. The best thing to do is ALWAYS assume they are there watching. Good Luck! Smile

Rest assured, someone is watching all the time!

Three weeks ago, I wanted to watch an arm.
Got there pre-game, only to find out it was a DH.

Couple days ago, a Territory guy w/ Brewers
chatted with me about the arm I was watching.
How did you know I was there, I ask.
The Brewers scout said, "I have my sources, and they said you were camped out all day".

Bottom Line: Somebody somewhere is watching!
