If he wants to play in a collegiate wood bat league that is sanctioned by the NCAA he needs to stay up north.

There are several top leagues in the New York area for him to play in during the summer. A lot of it depends on his year and Division he plays in. I'd suggest he speak to his coach about the summer before you make any plans.

Awesome

Be on the lookout for a brand new summer collegiate league this summer in the central Florida area. If all goes well, the FCSL (Florida Collegiate Summer League) will begin operation in June. It will be fully sanctioned by NCAA following all compliance guidelines. The college coaches and baseball people are all abuzz about the possibilities of having competitve college summer ball here in Florida.

An announcement could be forthcoming within the next 5 weeks so stay tuned to this site for further information.
Thanks for your concern Florida Baseball Guy. All I can say is keep your eye out for the FCSL because it is coming. The plan for this league has been in the works for a while now and is picking up momentum each and everyday.

As for college players, we never envisioned our league "taking" players away from the big summer programs (at least not yet), but rather to afford others their chance at competing in a great program.

Be assured that the league will be run the "right way" as we have quality people in key positions within the program. In addition, would it be fair to say to a deserving young man that he will have to wait til next year because others question whether the League has time to pull it off? I think not.

As previously stated, the FCSL will go forward this year only if it is truly ready. We will make that decision in the weeks to come. So, in the meatime stay tuned for the next college summer league,...the Florida Collegiate Summer League!

HEY GUYS,
There is a Florida College league already in the Tampa Bay Area, called Tampa Bay Elite College baseball, it's really competitive, they also have players form the minors and some others good players in that summer league, they play in various sites, with 8 teams, my oldest son played there the summer before he went to play D1.
Diamonddoll,

To answer your question, "Can an 04' grad play this summer"? No, by NCAA Summer League rules they are not permitted to play. Only college players who have completed their Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior year are eligible. There can be no ex-minor leaguers or even graduated Seniors by rule.

Sorry, but those guidelines are setforth by NCAA and in order to participate as a league in their program the rules and regulations must be followed to the letter.

The FCSL will have a website in the near future. Thank you for your interest.

This league in the Tampa Bay Area, has nothing to do with NCAA rules, but you have to be recomended to play there. I tell you that it' duels really competitive and you get to see better piching. There is another league in Miami that is excellent, the same nothing to do with NCAA, it's the Nicaraguan baseball league, play at different locations throughtout Dade county players from DR,Cuba,Venezuela,Nicaragua,PR all the way to double A play there. The main thing is to play, that's the only way to get better. I know of some kids that have traveled to Latin America to play in the summer. It's a heck of a experience. EMail me at Guapos4@aol.com and I'll get you the rigth information.
