I just wanted to reach out to the network once again. I am an assistant coach with The Melrose Indians Baseball Club (www.melroseindians.com) we are looking for a few players for the 2008 season. I know that most of the local talent goes to the CICL or Northwood’s league but I also understand that a lot of the talent does come back home. 2008 will be our second season in the Chicago Suburban Baseball League. www.chicagosuburbanbaseballleague.org The CSBL was voted the number 1 semi-pro league in the country. Most of the non-college guys have professional experience and the majority of college players are local division 1 guys. In 2007 we finished 21-14 overall and we finished in 4th place as a first year team in the CSBL. The Indians finished the season with a #28 ranking in the country here is what we did against other ranked Teams (wins and losses): #1 Lombard Orioles 2-2, #3 Crestwood Panthers 3-1, #15 Addison Braves 2-2, #24 Chicago Wildcats 2-2. We were very happy with the level of play top to bottom in the league and many compared it to the CICL and Great Lakes League.
We are very excited about the 2008 season! We are returning a great chore of guys and we are looking to build around that. In 2007 a few of the players who became part of the team were from this post so as always, thanks for all your help and support
