Is this odd, or something not to do? Son has a school that has shown interest but the schedule this year has been messy, so this Sunday would be really his last chance to visit.

My wife graduated from there, so we know a lot about the school, and really dont need a tour, or anything from admissions. And its 30 minutes away, so if we needed something, it wouldnt be hard to get. Just wanna meet with coach really.

So, is this doable normally?

Whether Saturday or Sunday, I'd suggest that your son get in touch with the coach with whom he's had the most contact up until now, explain your family's scheduling situation, and let the coach respond to whether it's a good day for them or not. In the process, he can explain why he only needs to meet with the coach.

It's not unusual at all for recruits to visit programs on weekends when a home series is being played. Having said that, home series weekends are pretty busy times for all of the coaches; so, they tend to structure their time with recruits pretty judiciously.

My apologies for the confusion. It is this Sunday. I edited the original message. They play a double header on Saturday on the road, then host the team on Sunday. I figured Sautrday would work better but they are on the road.

It seems that people on here have talked about visiting schools on Saturday when they can meet a coach, talk with admissions, talk with others in the university, then take in the game.

He has done visits on Saturdays, but I didnt know if Sunday would seem odd.

About 1/2 of my son's visits were on Sundays. Because we often were traveling a long way visit a group of schools in part fo the country we had to work schools in when we could. At this time of the year it may be the only day a school is not likely to be playing. If it's set up ahead of time with the coaching staff it should not be a problem. Admissions, financial aid and tours of the campus are normally set up to host prospective students on Saturdays.
