Composite for Christmas?

Hey all-

I have been sent on a mission by my best friend's girlfriend to find him a Christmas gift, and seeing as how we play baseball I immediately thought of a bat. We use wood exclusively in the fall, and all the way up until two weeks before the season, so I was looking at a nice composite bat. He had a Baum bat (I also have one and I personally feel they are amazing, almost like cheating)and lost it, but I feel that might be a bit too expensive.

Anyways, I was just looking for some recommendations from you guys about composite bats. I know the Demarini's are solid, but I was hopefully looking to stretch my horizons. I've looked at the Brett Dragon (not sure if that is 100% composite or just bamboo) and a Louisville Composite. Any experience or help with any bat would be greatly appreciated.
