How do the two compare? Organization and competition about the same? Is Connie Mack played thruout the country? Are CM tournaments heavily scouted like PG events?

Both are awesome...both have their place. The Connie Mack WS is a premier event...but awfully hard to be on a team that gets there.
PG's WWBA championships in East Cobb are pemiere events also.
Our son played Connie Mack...on a good team that made it to Western Regionals...AND...played in PG events including East Cobb. With the same team.
Is that not possible?
Apples and Oranges. Both are great, but very different. Connie Mack is more about local regions playing into a National event. At least in the West many players play Connie Mack during the summer with their teams going to other PG events.
