Wanted to get some feedback from those who have made this transition. What benefits have been experienced? What suggestions would you make? I know to keep an extra pair of contacts and contact solution handy as well as a pair of glasses. What else? Has anyone seen an improvement by getting away from glasses. I'm thinking my peripheral vision should be greatly improved. Thanks for any help.

I'd go with laser surgery. I had it done like 15 years ago and had great results. And techniques are so much better now.
If you don't want to do that, I like the contacts better. Personal preference.
Our son recently got contacts and glasses. Only wears the contacts on game day - glasses while driving, work or home.
Says he is seeing the ball much better. Before it was a white blur - now he can pick out the threads.
Son has been wearing daily wear contacts since 4th grade. Playing in the rain with glasses doesn't work real well He was playing catcher at the time and contacts worked much better.
I make sure he has an extra pair or two in his bat bag as well as his glasses when he travels. I keep an extra pair with me 'just in case'.
We make sure his eyes are examined in February before the HS season starts. His prescription changes every year so surgery is out for a while (spouse had it done years ago and loves it!)
I don't see many at the HS level playing in glasses. At the WWBA tourney this week, of the few games I attended, I don't think I saw any players wearing glasses.
