Why should they be able to come as a whole team.
I don't believe that is fair to the other teams that are put together as All-Star teams with know playing time together?

Also are the Hernandez Brothers getting to play for Cuba?

I think the only way to be Fair, Is to Have Cuba send some players from Cuba here individually and make up the rest with Cuban American's and or former Cuban Major Leaguers? That way you would not have a advantige of playing together for a long period of time.
You know it take's awile to learn how to be a team!
Not just a week are two together.

What do you all think?

You are entitled to your opinion but with that thought process I guess China which has a team, and Venezuela should be banned. Also we should exclude Mexico since they are encouraging illegal immigration.

Of course we should not participate in the Olympics either, lets just make everyone play by our rules.

I don't know what came first the Justice Dept saying they did not want Cuba here or Fidel saying Jeb Bush was Fat...maybe the action of the justice dept is related?

In a geo-political twist of epic proportions, look for "The Pineapple-Face" Manuel Noriega to take the mound for Cuba. Noriega will refute his Panamanian citizenship and his dad will produce a birth certificate stating that he was actually born at Guantanamo Bay, a love-child of Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore.
Just you watch!

EH...I don't understand the issue with Cuba coming as a team...what does it matter if its the "national team" I'm sure China has a national team...it doesn't matter...its just baseball lets enjoy the event.
Novice,

The USA has a huge assortment of laws prohibiting almost all transactions with Cuba.
That is the law of our land. That is not the case with China, Venezuela or Mexico (using your example).

The impasse was broken because Cuba agreed to donate all money made from the event to disaster victims. (Katrina I believe). Therefore - Cuba will not benefit financially.

Personally - I dont like the deal.
JMHO.
