Anyone know anything about Roanoke, Lynchburg, McDaniel, any other suggestions.
We have identified these among DIII schools to consider. My son is a very strong high school player and travel player but short in stature, which is limiting interest from D1 schools. We are from SE PA. Although plenty of players go D1 very few go High D1 and succeed. These three schools are a good academic fit. My son would be in the around the 25th percentile regarding the SAT scores, and has a weighted 4.0 at a very strong public high school. All these schools have a good choice of business majors especially for small schools. Not many people in our area have heard much about them.
We are told by several recruiters and coaches that my son should be able to compete at a strong D3 right away. He is a versatile player, catcher, infielder, strong hitter and very high motor and baseball IQ. He is looking for a program where he has a shot to contribute early on but can also enjoy the rest of the college experience.
We have very limited interest in D2 because of academics at most schools.
We are also looking at a number of the other schools in McDaniel’s conference but they are much more expensive given the academic money he would receive, also the are more limited in choice of business majors.
