GO TO p. 29 for a summary of DI, DII and DIII summary of recruiting rules. Not trying to be difficult but it specifically states No Limit to the number or when PHONE CALLS can me made. OFF-CAMPUS contacts can occur after your Junior year.
COULD THIS BE THE SOURCE OF CONFUSION????

we can argue till blue in the face, I spoke with my compliance director and checked what our records indicate and once again...I WILL NOT be making phone calls before July 1 as the rules are stated based on what we receive from the ncaa, and in our recruiting handbook from the ncaa...it is what it is! The NCAA always has descrepencies, however in my network of coaches, we all agree contact is not to be made until July 1.

I respect your comments, as well as what your compliance director is telling you. I can only go by the information I can see. I do not have access to the Coaches Recruiting Guide. As a matter of fact, it is listed on the ncaa website, but it can not be accessed at this time.....
And, good, bad or indifferent, there is AT LEAST one DIII baseball coach in VA who is aggressively looking for players, prior to July 1 of their junior year.
