I only missed one game in my son's HS Career... It was because I had a heart attack... But, while in ICU I was able to follow the game on Gamechanger, and he hit a Grand Slam in that game... I contemplated never going to another game because of that Salami, but I was the scorekeeper and they wanted me back...  LOL!

Luckily, my buddy video-ed the 'Disney-esque' moment and sent it to me in the hospital (First swing in this Highlight-Reel, below)... The kid literally got no sleep that night, he drove to the hospital to be at my side, then wanted to stay with me, but I told him to get to school so he could play in that night's game... He reluctantly agreed... The rest, it was magic!

Heck of a story and heck of a swing!  Hope you’ve regained your health!

Thank you brother, I sure have... After a 10,000+ steps a day program, my great cardiologist surprisingly informed me in November during a routine follow-up visit that my heart has regained 100% of it's strength, and there is no residual damage... Needless to say I was beyond happy!

Get a parent to do Gamechanger. Teach them how to score a game correctly (how to score a passed ball vs a wild pitch) and that should help.

FWIW, when my kid was playing 9U my job had me working so much I missed most of his games, and my daughters. I was missing dinners with family, working weekends...all for the $$$$. I realized it wasn’t worth it and literally took a $100K a year salary decrease to take a job that afforded me more time with family. Never regretted it and the salary eventually grew.

If I took a $100K cut, my wife would file for divorce.  On the bright side though, with a $100K cut, I wouldn't have any money to pay her alimony.

She was on board all the way. We have always lived below our means, so although the belt tightened a little for us, the kids didn’t really notice it. The main thing I got out of it was time to be part of the family, to volunteer at the little league, to not miss anything. You simply cannot put a price on that, so if you can swing it I would say skip the promotion and be part of your kids lives. You will never regret it. What you might regret is missing everything. Of course, your financial situation may dictate your choice, but if it doesn’t, then my advice is stand pat and enjoy family.

CG is good. One thing you can do when scoring is add notes about plays. I picked up the habit from another dad who did running commentary on the game so that parents who were not there saw more than just balls and strikes.

I didn't consider CG!  I know they had one in the past which the coaches did.  But, we have new coaches this year.  So, it might not happen again?

I've missed many games due to work. "Watching" a game on GC is so much better than nothing. Even if there's no official GC scorer for the team there may be someone  (like a parent) scoring it unofficially. Sometimes they do a great job, sometimes not. Sometimes there's no one scoring for my kid's team and I'll follow the other team's GC. They probably won't sub out your teams fielders or hitters but at least I'll know the score and a few other things. I can usually piece together what happened using other teams' GC and some eye witness accounts lol.  I'm very thankful that all V teams are required to use GC in our state!!!
