The list sure is one sided with all the D-Bat players, oh I forgot they are in bed with HS baseball report, kinda like when I worked for NIKE in the 70's and Brook's shoes had 6 running shoes in Runners World top 10 list but where bankrupt and not shipping out anymore. I know I'm going to get slamed but I can take it. Truth hurts!

I am so glad to see that I am not the one only that see these type of promotions for what they are but I won't go into detail because I might get my post deleted or modified or be "denied access"
My kid ain't on the list, nor does he deserve to be. Nothing wrong with the list. One DBAT in every age group doesn't seem that odd either. We all know that DBAT has coached these kids since the were toddlers, provided them with the best training, competition, equipment and facilities that can be offered this side of Alabama. Why would anyone not expect to see that DBAT'rs are recognized as the best players in this region?

DBAT
There are tons of GREAT players in this area and several deserving names but the two 18 year old kids on the list are about as good as any high school position players I have ever seen play the game. (I am not saying they are THE two best 18 players, just saying you could make that argument)

BTW, one Mustang and one Tiger!

I have to give this a big WRONG!!!!

So if you happen to play SS for say Little Elm, you CAN'T be great????? Come on!

So, if I had time, I would list all the best high school players over the last couple of years and very few would be great, since they don't have a championship??????

That would mean Carl Crawford was simply a good high school player. He played on a horrible high school team in Texas. He could hardly lead them to win a game, let alone a championship.

However, by the definition above, there are many "great" players who won championships who got to watch him play in the Major League All Star game.

one problem is that we are now calling "very good" players "great" players. there are very few "great" players, but there are a lot of very very good players and we are blessed to be in an area where we get to watch a lot of them on a daily basis. "great" players get drafted early such as zach segovia, randal grichuk, and slade heathcott. at this point of the season i'm not sure there are any players that are in the same class with these.
To all you Fonzanoons who dislike the DWF Best of the Best,

I’ve said this before – my name is Brad Brawner and I own the HS Baseball Report.

Look, I really don’t like having to defend HSBR as our goal is to help Southwestern baseball talent – PERIOD. We do this through prospect lists, scout tips, recruiting advice, fundraising support and showcase camps.

Regarding the DFW List, I apologize for not including 9th place ribbons to everyone’s kid and obviously some reports can vary in opinion...But the bottom line is that I spoke to over 25 coaches in developing this list.

If any of you guys(who don’t include your name, email or phone) in these postings would enjoy helping to create future prospect lists – we are open to it. And then when a new crop of people ***** about why ’so and so’ isn’t on the list you can become the spokesperson for HS Baseball Report.

Feel free to respond to me with a Top 25 DFW Players to watch this season list and we can create a joint report.

Lastly, I could use some assistance with something...

Can somebody help me come up with a list outlining the major Select baseball clubs in DFW and how many teams comprise each organization? Perhaps this will shed some light on the ratios.

Brad, sorry if I offended you, but you even said it in your first line "HS Baseball Report". Who know's what any of the "boys" listed from ages 12U and under are going to do or be in the next 2 to 6 years before they are HS bound. Plus this is a HS baseball web. I say keep the list but to us that use or abuse this website we only care about seeing how the young men that are playing HS and summer showcase are doing. Maybe you should start a Select Baseball forum for under HS teams, then you would be able to get the list your looking for as to organizations how many teams, rosters, get insights from coathes and parents.

horsr1, I think you may be confusing the idea that to be considered a GREAT team you have to win a championship. To say you can't be a great player unless you win championships is just simply ridiculous!

BTW, Ford was a Soph I believe when he played on the state championship team. However he is still just as good if the left fielder misplayed a line drive in the semi-finals and they didn't win.

Brad, there are a lot of us out here that appreciate the work you and many others do!

I look forward to seeing if Dbat maintains it's fair share in those polls as well. Big Grin

What about:

Worst select coaches that have hooked up with Hottest Moms that are married to the Nightmare Dads.
