Did you guys see that broken bat triple last night by Carlos Gonzalez.... you had to feel bad for the RF for the Giants. He sees a shattered bat, comes in, and the ball rockets over his head.

That was brutal!!! I could not believe that a bat could shatter like that and have the ball still rocket out to right field like that. Definitely felt bad for Ross and J. Sanchez.
On the other hand, if F. Sanchez (Giants 2B) makes a good throw instead of a seven hopper, runner is meat at 3B. And if Wilson is where he belongs, backing up over by the fence instead of 10 feet behind the bag, run doesn't score.
If I were still coaching, I'd use that play as an example for pitchers of how NOT to back up a base...

yes, pitcher backing up properly (back to the fence) is one of those little things that can go un-noticed 99 times but that 100th time it can win or lose you a ballgame.
