Thanks Backstop-17, so I have to assume that gametime on the westcoast is around 9am? Stupid me, I'm glad I verified on the UCSD website...I was going to tune in at noon Pacific Time, and probably would have missed the game!

After very heavy Thunder storms last night, it looks good for the Championship game with #1 UCSD and #9 Southern Indiana at 12 noon Eastern, 9am Pacific Time.

Congrats Coach Archuleta and USI. My son had the pleasure of playing your fine team earlier this year. Actually had a hit and run scored against the young man on the mound today. Nice to see a "Northern Team" fare well on the big stage!!!

I add my congratulations to USI on a terrific accomplishment. After watching several games in person this week, and more on the excellent broadcasts, I was impressed by the talent of the eight teams. More importantly, I was struck by the numerous gutsy performances under high pressure. DII baseball is anything but second-rate.

And even though my son will be playing in the Peach Belt Conference next season, I agree with the sentiment that it is good to see a "northern team" win the championship. The more competitive balance the better it is for the whole sport.

Their 6-4 victory over UCSD was a well deserved victory.

I was rooting for UCSD all the way today, but I have to give credit & congratulate USI! They answered the two runs that the Tritons put on the board in the Bottom of the first, and they were just good enough for nine innings to win the championship! Coach O'Brien and the UCSD Tritons had a great year, and won over plenty of fans with their hard work, and loose/fun attitudes!
