Any affiliates on the board of this district? Any opinions on top teams and players? I saw where this district has three teams in the preseason top 25.

This looks to be like one of the toughest 4A districts to be in, in the area. Six of the seven teams made the playoffs last season and went at least two deep in the playoffs. Of the teams I know about (all of them but Arlington Seguin and I know they made the playoffs and had quite a bit of talent). Waxahachie and Corsicana will very tough. Throw Seguin, Red Oak, Midlothian and Ennis in there and someone is going to come out bleeding. Every one of these teams have several kids that will play at the next level. Lancaster is the one team that I don’t believe will be a factor.

Lancaster doesn't have much talent but they have an awesome coach. He works really hard with what talent he is given and tries to make good young men out of them. Also Red Oak has an awesome coach. They should finish second or third. Really though there are several awesome coachs in that district.

Seguin returns 4 starters 5 if you count my son who was a part time starter as a freshman last year. We return our # 2 and # 3 pitchers from last year but we are battling some lingering injuries so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out when it comes to the rotation. We have a couple holes to fill one in centerfield, 1st base and one at catcher where these were three year starters/contributors. We also lost our best pitcher. We could be young with a possibility of starting 4 sophomores, but most likely only two will start at the beginning of the year.

Coach Rose at Seguin will have them well coached as well he always has his pitchers throwing strikes and his defense making plays I would expect no different from them this year.

I have a sneaky feeling this district won't be decided until the bitter end and somebody pretty good is going to get left out of the playoffs

I'm going out on a limb and say Corsicana will win this district. 
With Stayton and Keith it will be hard to beat Corsicana.

We finally got our bats back and beat Mesquit High last night at The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. What a fun time that is to play there.

The Nebraska trip was good got to see the college kid have a real nice first game Saturday going 2-3 with 2 rbi's including the game winner so that was pretty sweet. Corsicana is a good team don't get me wrong but if you keep the top two off the bases they are very beatable. There student section leaves a bit to be desired as far as over all class but I think it helped us play better. Congrats back at you! Hope WM hit the ball all over the park.

It usually gets pretty ugly when we play them also as they are one of our big rivals, Waxahachie being the other. There is no love lost between the three of them. Just be glad Athens is not in this district anymore. Those guys and gals were ruthless, entertaining, but ruthless.
