Do you think your coach will throw his best stuff at the teams he is ahead of or tied with, to ensure he'll beat get the wins he must have, or will he throw his best against the toughest competition?

If you have not had the opportunity to watch the Marcus coach just know this...the best available will be used to get any win, he will not hold back. I do see the point of some "picking" their battles but not the case with MHS (MOO).

FM's last game is against the 's on 4/27/2007 so maybe it will be wrapped up sooner. I am curious how the UT signee will be utilzed. A lot of money to be invested by that school. I hope his arm has had the proper rehab.

You have MHS on your final game and if they are needing a win...watch out.

Don't count the Farmers out just yet. They may be out of it come game time against FM, but I can tell you this, they will compete against FM. If they change up the rotation and throw Choate against them, Josh always seems to pitch his best games against their cross town rivals.

KD....can I call you KD? I never said or insinuated they (the Farmers) would be out (although they have a challenge ahead of them, like would need to win out and get a lot of help from, other District foes) or that they would not put up a fight. I was trying to correct someone else's mis-statement of the schedule. I just stated that the 's was who FM played their last district game against.

I agree with KellerDad. The Farmers are very good. They have the misfortune of being in this district for baseball. I think they'd do very well is some other districts.

The District is tough but the "District" is not the root cause of their misfortunes....MOO.
Go 's!

The 's picked up a critical win and HHS lost one they could not afford. Getting very intersting in 6-5A

And here they come around the final turn . . .
Lets go ahead and make the assumption that Coppell grabs at least second place in the district. That means Creekview, Hebron, Marcus, Lewisville - and even Newman Smith - are battling for the final two playoff spots. Smith would have to win its final four district games, but 7-7 MIGHT get a team in. It's possible, anyway.

The remainder of the schedules:
HEBRON (5-5) - Home games vs. Newman Smith, R.L. Turner; Road games at Coppell and Marcus

CREEKVIEW (6-4) - Home games vs. Coppell and Lewisville; Road games at Flower Mound and Newman Smith

LEWISVILLE (4-6) - Home games vs. Turner and Flower Mound; Road games at Marcus, Creekview

MARCUS (5-5) - Home games vs. Lewisville and Hebron; Road games at Newman Smith and Coppell

NEWMAN SMITH (3-7) Home games vs. Marcus and Creekview; Road games at Hebron and Turner
Haven't posted in awhile but....

I told Meat today that even Coppell needs to take care of business in these last 4 games. 0-4 would put them at 8-6 and all bets are off for the playoffs. Every game counts and with the Friday, Saturday, Tuesday schedule we will see who has pitching....or not.

Personally I think Coppell goes 4-0 and wins the District 6-5A championship but I don't wear a glove or pitch a ball so my opinion doesn't matter. Besides if you haven't figured it out yet...I'm a homer. Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck Hebron and Hawkman, no offense OBN but young Hawkman and Meat will be carrying the DBAT flag into battle this summer.

MD...can I call you MD? At least you admit to being a "homer" so so therefore it is easy to see where you are coming from.

Your comment raises some interesting scenarios in the District. If, IF the 'Boys did win out and if....IF, Jags wins all but the game against the 'Boys then, depending on how the "District" meeting went down there would be "Co-Champions" (like kissing your sister) and the playoff seeding would ...maaaaabey be set by head to head agains the number 3 6-5A representative which at this time is the Mustangs. Now if memory serves me well...The 'Stangs beat both the 'Boys and Jags...Which both teams must face again this week! - Hmmmmm.

The Marauders face a team desperately needing wins to have any hope. From a rival stand point the 's consider the Marauders to be a bigger rival than the Jags (as told to me by several players past and present and it relates more to football than baseball - we are in Texas after all!)

Looking at the Jags schedule they do not have an easy task.....I beleive Turner nearly pulled one off earlier against them and then they face the pesky (term of endearment) 'Stangs, then the 'Boys and then the 's. The 'Boys don't have an easy two weeks either as all four opponents are in the hunt for a spot and need wins.

The 'Stangs have a shot at a title if they can repeat aginst the "Boys and Jags and get some help and the win the remainder of their schedule .

The Hawks look to have a good shot shot with their remaing four games however they threw a non-district game in on the 21st in the evening (DMN's schedule).

The Marauders have a good shot as well but will need help from themselves and a few others.

The 's are not out but I don't see them winning out which is what they need to do.

For Smith...if they won out a 7-7 record will not be enough but you just never know.

The Hawks and Marauders will be fighting hard for what I think will be the fourth playoff spot.

It as close to a playoff atmosphere as you can get so we will see how the kids and coaches deal with the pressure. Should be fun!

But then again I am just a head!

Good luck to all!

I believe UIL states there will be a 1 game playoff for seeding purposes. Not first hand knowledge but have heard from somewhat reliable source. I am sure Texan can bring us up to date on the process, he is very good at that technical stuff.

(3) Exception To Resolve District Ties.
(A) Two Schools Tied. To resolve a two-way tie, the district executive committee may authorize a single elimination
game. The tie breaking game may be in addition to the 19 allowed games but may not be played as an exception
to the school week limitation.
(B) Three or More Schools Tied. If three or more schools are tied, the district executive committee may authorize
a single elimination tournament in addition to the total number of games and tournaments allowed for the season.

Again not to clear! Confused
