HS baseball has started here, with tryouts taking place indoors. How sad! But let’s face it, the coaches already know who can play and who can’t. Of course, there are some younger kids who haven’t been seen yet. But they come with reputations and they’ll get a good look. The team returns 10 seniors. All are confident. Johnny tells his friends that he’ll be the number 3 starting pitcher this year. Mike says he rather place LF, instead of RF this year. Eric hopes to be a starter and not a reliever. Their parents are also excited, talking about where their sons will play in college. Not very strong programs, but college ball, nonetheless.

How shocking is it that all three of these boys plus two other seniors were cut from the team. Granted, none of them were starters last year, but the consensus was they would all be back. I guess the moral here is to take nothing for granted, and not count your chickens before they’re hatched.

Why not cease and desist--fiction is great when we talk about ORCAS not HS baseball players

SHOCKING==please stop with the tears-- they didnt start last year--why would they start this year if better players were there-- what consensus ?? The coach is the consensus !!!!

Whomever you are --I think you need help for your mental state- I am serious--they are not starters and they will play in college !!!!!

Not very realistic-- but then you never were

limon84 - Is this a different school than you talked about last week? On March 6th you wrote that the rosters were posted and your son was cut. On March 9th you wrote that you had a call-back and your son had now made the team. Now on March 13th you're talking about tryouts taking place indoors! Interesting process your school has, having tryouts after naming their team. Confused Whatever....
