I am just curious to hear what everyone's opinion is on how the economy will effect the draft?

Different things I have heard or Though

Boras guys will only be Yankees or Red Sox

High school kids will be adviced to go to school

More college kids taken for affordability reasons

Will this hurt the game or help??

Not really sure where you get your information from?

Boras guys will only be drafted by the Yankees or Red Sox?

You may have some more players be eager to sign, parents may not be able to afford college.But then again in bad times college enrollment goes up.

More college players are drafted than HS players.
Teams may not take advantage of all their picks.

By the time the draft takes place, MLB Clubs will have a very good idea as to how their organization has been affected by the economy. That very well could dictate further budget cuts for some teams. Some have already taken the chain saw to their budgets. One area where budgets can be cut without hurting the clubs current position... is the draft!

This "could" be the year the draft corrects itself. It "could" be the year that the rich get richer, too. Then again, it might just be the same as always.
