My son recently received some information from them about the upcoming summer and playing for them. I did a little research and found out they are no longer in the Alaskan League. They played last summer as an independent so they could play in the NBC World Series. I would appreciate any information or opinions on this organization and if this is a good or bad situation for my son. As always, thanks for your help!
Our younger son played a summer in the Alaskan League with the MatSu Miners. I imagine the Goldpanners, while maybe not in the league, still play those teams. Who else are they going to play?
Overall, the experience was good, although there were some difficulties with one of the guys who ran the team that summer. But Alaska is the most beautiful place I've ever been and our son got to experience some outback type of stuff that he never would have in CA. Including eating moose burgers.
