Will elaborate Wednesday, but these boys do not panic.....they are finding a way to win.....this is the true + for this talented bunch.
Thur:
FHS-5 Baylor-1 - Tyler Powell pitched a great game 6 2/3 5/K, 0/BB, 1ER. Eldridge 2-4 3B, 2rbi, Waldrop 2B. GCM, you will particlarly love this one - the last run was a Pharr special = 1st and 3rd delayed dbl steal....beautiful.
Fri:
FHS-8 Sc Hill-7 Close and hard fought...this is the 1st example of the "find a way" I mentioned.Ryno Steben started and got into a little trouble.....enter Michael Joseph (yes Robbie's younger bro)....got called up to the varsity Wed. night....got the win 4 2/3 6/K, 3/BB, 2/R, 0/ER. Drew Reagan got the save.
Eldridge 2-4 (2 2B/RBI), Sherrad 2-5 (2RBI), Waldrop 2-4 (HR - lazer to LC), Reagan 3-4. We made some errors to hurt ourselves here...and not help a Soph pitcher....but they found a way to win....head first bunt singles, etc
Sat:
FHS-4 Father Ryan-2 These guys played well but Catapano was to much this day 7 inning complete game, 9/K, 2/BB 4/H, 2/R, 1/ER. Did it with the long ball in this one. Reagan 1-2 (2 run HR), Sherrad (solo HR), Brown 1-2 (2B).

FHS-13 Riverdale-1 This was not Riverdale at their best...will see them again this weekend and fully expect a good game.
Sherrad pitched a 5 inning completion 1/K, 0/BB, scattered 5 hits. Eldridge 3-4 (2B, 3B, 4/RBI), Waldrop (2B), Dean (2B), King (2B).

FHS-5 McCallie-4 10 innings Phillip Heyming started rough but finished strong 7 innings, 6/K, 0/BB, 6/H, 4/R, 4/ER. Drew Reagan got the win in relief....we had some good hits, but McCallie played well......we wioll see them 2 more times this yaer and will likely get all we can handle both times. We'll talk more Wed.
Farragut played some good ball this weekend. I was on hand at the tourney. McCallie and Science Hill gave them a good fight. Farragut has future games scheduled with both of them. McCallie had their chances at them as did Science Hill. Frye threw good enough to win for SH, but they never got their bats going.SH's catcher made it a closer game by his solid defense. McGahey had a tough day at the plate that day and Farragut capitalized on their errors.
Replying to AISA Fan: Thanks for the kind words on our Admirals. The same can be said of your Gators. From my vantage point, I thought the Glenwood team was disciplined, well-coached, and very capable. Taking a "northern tour" through TN for a round of baseball games on spring break is impressive. Revisit often: let us know how the Gators are progressing through this season.
