This is old and not a favorite like Sandlot or Bull Durham but it has some great moments that should be mandatory for all baseball parents:
FEAR STRIKES OUT
Great story about Jimmy Piersol but the point here was that dad was real pusher!!! Drove the kid crazy, a lesson to all parents.
Bull Durham
After shaking of the "2" repeatedly,
Meat; "He hit that like he knew what I was throwing."
Costner: "he did"

quote:real oldie that starred Joe E. Brown as a pitcher
Wow, you're old! Joe E Brown was briefly a semipro baseball player. Starred in several corny 1930s baseball movies. Mostly remembered today as the rich old gentleman who chased cross dressing jack Lemmon in "Some Like It Hot."
Just watched the remake of Bad News Bears - I never laughed so hard in my life!!! Movie is an absolute scream. No F bombs, but pretty much everything else is said..not for youngsters, but, teens and up - ABSOLUTE RIOT!!!
A couple of favorites from the manager in Bull Durham:
"This...is a simple game. You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball. You got it?!"
"You guys! You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. Do you know what that makes you? Larry?....Lollygaggers!"

A great line that was left on the cutting room floor....
It actually was in the trailer but not the film....
Major League, Charlie Sheen talking to Tom Beringer.....
Sheen "Man that ball was hit.... that would go out in any park"
Beringer "I know some parks that could have held it"
Sheen "Name One!"
Beringer "Yellowstone"

And, of course, the great baseball routine of Abbott and Costello..... is that considered a quote?
This is from Rockies manager Clint Hurdle
"If you get up with one out and bases loaded and think your gonna hit into a double play, just strike out and let the next guy have shot at it".

Rsctt83~ I'm LMAO....

I wish I could take credit for that, my son and I were lucky enough to hear Clint Hurdle speak a few weeks ago ...... funny, intelligent and articulate. If you ever have the opportunity to hear him do not miss the chance.
The Bad News Bears (the original). Can't repeat my favorite quote...
As a printable favorite quote I'd go with the post above as to the speech by Jon Cusack as Buck Weaver in 8 men out about the thrill of playing

Don't want to hijack the thread, but there were 2 great quotes in the movie Vision Quest [about wrestling].
"It's not that it's only for 6 minutes - it's what you make happen in those 6 minutes" [could easily change '6 minutes' to '9 innings'
"If you want something, you have to be willing to take a risk. If you want it bad enough, you have to be willing to risk everything."

Cong, that exchange was between Sheen and the actress playing his old girlfriend in MLII. Great line!
candlesticks always make a nice gift....
From Field of Dreams:
Kinsella: Dont we need a Catcher?
Joe Jackson: Not if you get it near the plate we dont!
Terrence Mann:
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
