The Class of 2005 HS Player is ready to enter the key segment of his recruting process--being seen and talked to---

Things to be doing right now as you get ready for your HS season

Get your HS schedule out to schools you have an interest in--you never know who they might send to see you

Get your summmer schedule out to them including your summer team, showcases and camps

Get your showcase schedule set up so that you are in top shape when you appear not coming off a tough game the night before.

Make sure your Guidance Counselor knows you want all papers sent to the Clearinghouse before the end of the school year-- stay on top of him

If the school is local to the college it can happen.

Keep in mind that the college season ends for most programs in the second week of MAy leaving a lot of HS baseball time still to go.

I say send the schedule because there are always alumni who like to help out as well.

It costs you nothing more to send the HS schedule in the same envelope with the other info you send

The Clearinghouse needs OFFICIAL transcripts --this is here you have to stay on top of your guidance counselor--- if you take the SAT/ACT exams under specials conditions documentation ( learning disability) of this is also required

Most coaches when they send alumni send people they have faith in --- they will be able to tell the coach yes or no you want to see the kid play-- the alumnus in your region can save a coach a wasted trip-- My son lived in NY and a Texas school was interested in him-- they sent an alumnus to see him during the spring of his junior year-- first call July 1 was this same school. It also was his first official visit.

In the recruiting process those who have been thru it will agree-- YOU NEVER KNOW !!!!

After the junior year-- they give you "conditional" approval based on the core classes thru your junior year-- you get OFFICIAL approval after your final transcript in the senior year.

At this point also you may discover that you are short a few core classes even if you thought you had covered the bases
