Time to vent:

Baseball coverage in this area s**cks! I can't find any mention of all conference, all area ~ nothing!

I'd like to know who from other schools were honored...nothing on our teams website (no 2009 roster either), nothing on our conference website, and cant find anything in any of the local papers ~ pathetic!

Congrats to all those listed above, though.

The coverage isnt that great on this part of town either. I looked at the Daily Herald's Cook county all area team and it basically is just made up of players from the mid suburban league . Cook county is much bigger than that . Trying to figure out where all the players from the glenbrooks , loyola , new trier , ND , and others around here ------ where do they all fit in .

Travel, I don't think the Herald is that prominant in your area.. They are much more visible in the northern and western suburbs. They had reporters at all of the playoff games up here... Click on the drop-down where it says "Your community news" and you will see what areas they cover.

The Herald calls it their Cook county team but it obviously does not cover all of the county . It does seem strange that they do it that way . I believe the Pioneer Press puts out an all area team that covers the Glenbrooks , Maines , Niles , etc . It certainly is a misleading way for the Herald to call it their " cook county all area team " when it only covers a small portion of the county . It shoukd be called Northwest suburban team ..that would be more fitting .

As I said in the post, use the community news pull-down and you will see what areas the Herald covers... It is VERY limited in some areas, and extensive in others. It certainly demonstrates the need for another local paper to pick up the slack. Please do not consider my posting of the link as an endorsement of the content. And now, a word from our sponsors.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there some Central Suburban League teams located in Cook County? Not a single CSL player to be found on that list...another worthless compilation.

Isn't Maine West in the CSL, secondly I think this is based on circulation and distribution, not the whole county itself. Lastly, there is nothing worthless about the accomplishments of the athletes. Show more maturity and restraint with your words Bravescoach. Pathetic.

Playball2 - no need for the lecture. My comment was directed specifically towards the process and certainly not the athletes listed. Spin it how you want but that's the truth. As Mr. Nobody accurately points out, the Herald needs to be more specific as to what "Area" is actually being represented. I took it to mean all of Cook County which would obviously include many other public and private schools within that geographic region. If my perception was wrong, I do appologize to those I have offended. Either way, I congratulate those listed on a terrific achievement...something I should have included in my previous post...my bad.
