Fields 7IP 3H 11K 2W 3R 2ER 28BF ~107 pitches
Ballew 2IP 3H 2K 0W 0R 0ER 9BF
Herrick 9IP 8H 18K 1W 5R 5ER 37BF ~157 pitches

Defense mention: Very nice catch by Jordan Hammontree (ROCK)
going away just under the 370ft sign
to take away a sure 2B/3B leading off the 6th.

Clearly a yeoman's performance from Herrick. Looked like to me he was throwing as good in the 9th as he was in 1st. His offense almost pulled it out coming from behind in the 7th. Winning run was left stranded on 2nd (I think)

Excellent performance by Cody Fields for Rockwall but comes away with a no decision. In hindsight, I'd like to have seen us make a change in the 7th to try and close it out (Rockwall was up 3-1 after 6) and preserve the win for Fields. NF tied the game in the 7th so we played 2 more.

(Note: This is my scoring and may not exactly reflect what is reported to DMN or what the teams scored.)

I don't want to start the whole pitch count discussion again but I have known Ty and his family since he was about 7 years old and this I really hated seeing this.

ACowboyFan - Coppell is definately deserving of their top ranking in district, DFW and state. They are a solid and well rounded team.

I was sitting next to the Hill College coach and Parrent had an awesome outing. He had a no-hitter through 4 innings. He gave up two slow rolling infield hits, struck out 9 batters, neutralized JM and a pick to finish 6 complete innings with 111 pitches and a 2-hitter. You're right...he was out of gas!

Congratulations to the Cowboys!
