wITH OVER 3 INCHES OF RAIN in a period of 48 hours the Fun in the Sun Tourney was able to play all of their games due to great work by Jerry Halstead, Tim Dixon, Scott Hankey and Keith Warren; all baseball coaches who got their respective fields ready for action by 11 am friday-- go to diamondsportspromotions.com for all of the scores and results

GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE...TODD FINE and his coaching staff showed class on the field and off the field in winning the Fun in the Sun over the St Louis Mustangs 7-6. Tier went 5-0 in the tourney and played very well with alot of hustle and good competitiveness...

We had around 45 schools show up for this one and we look forward to the next one at ILlinois State and Illinois Wesleyan on the 13th-15th-- 44 teams...PLEASE DON'T RAIN...MY HEART CANT TAKE MUCH MORE!!1

ROCKFORD HITMEN won the consolation championship over Bloomington Normal Gold and Frankfort Square Vipers won challenge Tourney I...with Overland Park Yankees from Kansas winnng Challenge Tourney II

great success and recruiters liked it too....Big plans for the 2008 summer Fun in the Sun already going on.. What other invitational tourney in Illinois has a nice get together with food and drinks at the Holiday Inn on one night and feeds the kids the 2nd night with Free Tourney T shirts for each kid?

Here's the Roster for this Top Tier 17u team.

Anyone have the White sox 17u roster? I couldn't find it.

Good bunch of guys on this team. This kid Jim Risi can really tag it, I believe he's a 16 year old. Saw him hit a homer at the Northwestern tourney and he absolutely crushed the ball, it looked like a cartoon homer.

The White Sox were a good bunch of athletes and looking forward to see Issacs group again this weekend at Illinois State....and yes, you are right I would have loved to see it go the full 7 innngs too... but with no lights time limits are a must....We barely got the entire championship game in...if it would have gone extra innings as it almost did we would have had a tie due to daylight... Thats the reason for time limits.. The scouts were talking about Louis Diaz alot and his ability to hit the baseball.. Overall I thought the teams were alot stronger then in the past with alot of individuals similar in talents...No Real Big STandouts which dominated the tourney- just real good overall talent..
