Last night on ESPN was a one hour special called GAMERS--The Unsung Heroes of Baseball. If ever there was a video on how to play the game, it was this. For the most part, it was a bunch of undersized, players that get dirty and just find a way to win--the guys that really leave it out there (Biggio, Eckstein, Freel, Rowand, Veritek, AJ Pierzynski, Chase Utley, Chone Figgins, Mark DeRosa, Torii Hunter, Greg Maddux, etc. It was great. My college freshman son even sat down with me and watched it. What was great, is they interviewed other players about those guys and what their impressions are of those guys. If they ever show it, again, it would be great education.

It was great wasn't it JT? I caught it some time after it started so I didn't get to see it all. I think Eckstein was the first thing I saw. Anyway, it just captivated me and I wanted to yell up at my son to come down and join me but he was doing homework. For some reason he came down towards the end so we watched the rest of it together. When it was over, I said that it was a pretty neat show and he said "Yeah...the Jeter part" (since he's one of our favs) and he grinned. And I laughed out loud at Kruk's closing line. Very good show and worth watching again.
