In the Garland/Rockwall game the score actually should have been 2-1, but one of our players made some costly errors that caused a few more runs to score. But as I told my son, you're not going to win games where you can only plate one run. Rockwall will be in the race for district champ for sure and Poteet as well.

It was surprising to see Poteet make that many errors. I think that was their first loss this season. I am actually shocked at District records.
I had really thought that NF would have been better than their 5-5 season. I wish when the scores are posted, the errors are posted also. However, I guess in the end all that matters is the score.

Good luck to 43momma son and to play as if it is his last game.

Coppell vs RR McNeil at 5 pm at Cedar Park HS

Coppell vs Cedar Park at 7:30 pm at Cedar Park.

Split last night, Coppell 6-4 over Austin Westlake. Watten pitched 4 shut-out innings, looked good getting ready for District on Tuesday. Lost 5-1 to Austin Westwood in the night-cap, Westwood looked primed for the game, they had good pitching - Ross Speed - great pitcher name was hard to hit, had velocity and good location.

Didn't count the SO's but it was a LOT. OP how many????

Great seeing you OP and good luck the rest of the weekend.....

Great seeing you too OBN. The LeGuen kid was awesome last night. Kept us off balance the entire game. INCREDIBLE change up! He had 9 K's by the way. 7 of those were through the first 3 innings!!

Good luck the rest of the tourney. Ya'll have a very good team. Should do well in district IMO.

Tough day for Pine Tree:

Game 1: Pine Tree 4
Sherman 8

LP - Brian Shore

Game 2 Pine Tree 9
Garland Lakeview Centennial 1

WP - Zane Hendon
HR's - Zane Hendon, Jeff Thompson, Todd Stonger

McKinney beat Sherman tonight creating a 3-way tie between McKinney, Sherman, and PT. Based on least runs allowed for a three team tie, McKinney moves on as the #1 pool seed and PT moves to the consolation bracket as the #2 pool seed (even though PT beat McKinney head-to-head).
Wow, some great pitching this week. Congratulations to J. Leguen and R. Pressly, a current teammate and a former teammate getting it done and doing it well. Hope to see them tomorrow.

Jesuit 6
Waxahacie 7

WP: Woods
LP: Wyand

Kevin Cosgrove got the start and pitched very well; made a few mistakes that ended up costing him in the end. Jake Wyand came in 6-6 in the bottom of the 7th after Colton Cain hit a 2-run shot to end KC's night. Waxahachie followed that with 2 Texas-leaguers to get the winning run in. Let one slip away.

On a side note, Colton Cain also started the game for them, throwing 2 innings giving up 2 runs, both earned. Pulled most likely for district/possible appearance later in tournament.

Playing for the McKinney championship tomorrow, hopefully. Good luck to all tomorrow.

No consolation, you're still playing like us as the #2 seed from the bracket. However, it does seem odd that they would get the #1 if you beat them straight up, but in a 3-way tie I guess it doesn't really matter.
McKinney North 7
Naaman Forest 6

WP-Erik "Woody" Ross (2-1) Save-Austin Schuler (1)
LP-Riley

Leading Hitter-North Andrew Smith 2-2 3RS; Garrett Yates 2-3 2RS
Leading Hitter-NF-Emerson 2-2 2RS; Alton 2-3 2B,3B 1RS 2RBI

HR-Naaman Forest-Prince (3 run shot in the 6th to make it a game)

McKinney North finishes 2-1 in the tournament, but loses the tie breaker and is finished for the weekend. We were out of pitching, so it's a good thing really!!

Rockwall 3
Plano East 2

WP - Parish
LP - Bostwick (another complete game)

Bostwick pitched good enough to win tonight. Not much hitting for either team -- but fewer mistakes for the Rock. Nice contributions from ChangeUp, Clemente21, and Longtoss's sons. C21 -- wow, what a throw! *** nice job, Blake ***

It was nice to see Changeup, Swami, and to finally meet the Swingdoc (an honor). Smile

Coach Payne -- early scrimmage and tourney game now -- Rockwall by 1 in each contest -- let's get together in May for a series.

Got back late from Austin,

Coppell lost to Austin McNeil 8-1, we tried to sneak 3 JV pitchers by in pool play and it hurt. The starter is a kid I know well and I know he can pitch a lot better than what he showed but I think he was a little nervious in his Varsity debut.

In the second game Eric Nieder got the 9-3 win over Cedar Park, Chad Kettler came in to close and looked great.
San Antonio Reagan wins its third straight tournament, this one hosted by defending 4A state champion New Braunfels High School. This weekend, Reagan defeated Boerne H.S. 5-3, Uvalde H.S. 6-0, New Braunfels H.S. 13-9, and Pflugerville H.S.

In today's game vs. Pflugerville, the teams were very evenly matched. Reagan was down 5-2 in the seventh inning, but battled back to score 3 runs. At the end of the 7th inning, both teams were tied with 5 runs, 6 hits, and 1 error each. Reagan continued to battle and finally won 6-5 with a run in the 10th inning. A nail-biter for sure!

Reagan is now 17-0-1.

Jesuit pitched Taylor Ryan to start, only 2 or 3 runs given up I believe. He only threw 3 innings since he had thrown previously. A JV pitcher followed and gave up most of the runs then followed by another previously started pitcher. Safe to say we were out of pitching and coach was looking forward to Tuesday. That or knowing that we couldn't win the championship...think the championship play could have been better formatted, but oh well.

Marcus beat Waxahachie 5-1 and looked good going into the championship game against McKinney. All I know.

Kyle Meinhardt on the mound for Tuesday against L.D. Bell at L.D. Bell. Should make for a good game.

You had to wonder how those young men at Grapevine would respond to the events....and the talk was either they would fold up, or be the hardest team to beat in the Metroplex.

I vote for the latter.

Keller won the second game 6-0 to take 3rd in the tourney.

KD,

I figured they would respond with guts.

We will see you at Northwest Tuesday...come find collikar and I before the game.
