Boy, oh boy there are certain schools out there that have a draw on baseball players!! Well, I guess there are types of schools that draw people for alot of different reasons, baseball is just one. Make sure when you are selecting a school that you are selecting the school because it is a perfect fit for your son not because it has "this or that title" associated with it!! Choosing the wrong school because the parent wants their child to go to "such an such" school is the wrong approach!! Make sure the student or player makes the choice, it is their future and as a famous webster says, thank you Fungo, "pay for their successes, not their failures". Set your student up to succeed not to fail!!

HSDad, I know exactly what you are talking about!! You have to do a ton of research on the school prior to the time that your son goes there!! If I could tell any recruit one thing I would tell them to go to as many games of the school that you are thinking of going to. Try to get seats as close to the dugout as you can so you can get the flavor of the coach, how the players respond to the coach, what respect is shown toward the players and toward the coach. Do your homework, find out who left the program, find out why!! It could save you thousands of dollars in transfer fees!!

There are big time baseball programs that attract players, chew them up and spit them out!! There are also great programs that are wonderful to be at!! Find out which is which!!
