Hey everyone. Im a sophmore pitcher that would love to advance into college baseball. I transferred from the #1 team in the country to a small average highschool team. I haven't been gunned, but have been told I throw hard by current and former coaches and teamates. I am 5'7 150lbs and have sound fundamentals. I would like to know ways to draw attention from college recruiters.

1. Will my size work repel college recruiters?

2. How can I draw attention from recruiters?

3. Am I allowed to send letters and contact the colleges of interest

thanks in advance for your advice

1. Are you still growing? Who knows.. you may have a few more inches or more. If you are throwing hard enough, a smaller frame might actually be an advantage since colleges might think you're not going to be snatched by the draft.

2. Go to showcases. Check the Perfect Game website. Go to college camps where you might like to go to school. Play on the best Summer team possible.

3. Absolutely. You can send colleges letters and e-mails, and you can call them! They cannot call you until July 1st of your Junior year, but your sophomore year is a great time to get on the "radar" screen. Get your name out there now!
