GOOD OL' CALIFORNIA
(Not to be outdone by all the redneck, hillbilly, & Texan jokes...

You know you're in California when......

>> Your coworker has 8 body piercings and none is visible.
>> You make over $300,000 and still can't afford a house.
>>Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Breeze.
>>You can't remember ... is pot illegal?
>>You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.
>>You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.
>>You know which restaurant serves the freshest arugula. {H-mom note ... don't ask me, I don't know what it is either} noidea
>>You can't remember ... is pot illegal?
>>A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.
>>A low speed police pursuit will interrupt ANY TV broadcast.
>>Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the US
>>A man gets on the bus in full leather regalia and crotchless chaps and you don't even notice.
>>Unlike "back home", the guy at 8:30am at Starbucks wearing the baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney really IS George Clooney. {H-mom note ... oh how I wish ...}
>>Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.
>>You can't remember ... is pot illegal?
>> It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH 2003." {H-mom note: My personal favorite ...} laugh
>>You have to leave the big company meeting early because Billy Banks himself is teaching the 4:00pm Tae Bo class.
>>You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cells or pagers.
>> It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents.
>>Hey!!!! Is Pot Illegal????
>>Both you AND your dog have therapists.

We learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp; some are dull; some are pretty;
some have weird names; all are different colors.
And they all have to learn to live in the same box.

H-Mom.... IS it illegal???
I'll pass these along to Jr as this is where he wants to go to school...

Here's some insight about the North part of the left coast Cool

You Know You're From Western Washington IF:
You know the difference between "showers followed by rain" and "rain followed by showers".
Your Lawn is mostly Moss and you don't care
You get a terrible sunburn on the first really nice day of summer
You see a person carrying an umbrella and know they must be a tourist.
You take a coat and hat with you for a day at the beach
You realize no education is needed to be a weatherman...just say "Partly cloudy with chance of rain".
You know at least 5 different ways to kill a slug.
You know what a Dick's Deluxe is. (Mrs. note, and it's DE-Licious!!)
You feel overdressed wearing a suit to a nice steak restaurant.
You understand what people mean when they say Pop (translation soda)
In the winter you go to work in the dark, come home in the dark and have only worked an 8 hour day.
You Know more than 10 different ways to order a coffee.
You consider swimming an indoor sport.

AND FINALLY (H-Mom, this is for you thumb)
You know you're from Western Washington IF
You complain about Californians moving in while you sell your house to one for more than 2x it's value.... manrunning

No, Oregon's the state with the larger rain drops that wreck leather shoes, and the state with the awful "Lightning Yellow" Duck uniforms. Can you guess that I am an alumnus of UW?

Also Oregon is the state where you can shop at Nordstroms in Washington and not pay sales tax.

And Oregon is the state where medical marijuana is legal. I have met two people in the last week who use it for sciatica, and I met another one who knows where the marijuana gardens are on Forest Service land. So I guess it's legal.
