Wow I really have no idea what to say on this. Seriously, I'm speechless.

If Cougars offend older women then wouldn't Chargers offend people who are financially challenged and not be able to achieve a high credit score?

Also, no one should call themselves the Bats because that could offend crazy people.

I do wonder what the logo was going to be for the Cougars, that made someone think first of women and not of the big cats. (Woody, got a fun photo for us? )

More important what the hell should I call a cougar if I see one? I certainly wouldn't want to offend any middle age woman around me at the zoo. This stuff it out of control.

Pekin High School is located in Illinois. From the 1930's through 1980, Pekin HS honored their sister city, Peking, China by calling themselves the Pekin Chinks. In 1980, and rightfully so, they changed their name to the Pekin Dragons.

That was the right thing to do. Is today April Fools Day?

Not only is it goofy but I get so tired of school officials offering their students a choice and then disregarding what they want. I grew up in Fremont CA and I remember they were opening a new high school and they let the students name the school. The majority voted for Nova high school. But the officials didn't like it so they named it American.
Why did they even bother to let the kids vote?

Up in Idaho there is state mental institution in the town of Orofino. The High School's official nickname is "The Maniacs", which officials, with straight faces, say has nothing to do with the town's largest employer.

The one I like is when people get all bent out of shape about whether the Atlanta Braves name is offensive to Native Americans.

To take offense, you have to be completely ignorant of the origin of the team name.

WOW! I wonder what the voting school board demographics were when the mascot was rejected. Why did the school board even offer the cougar as a choice? Unreal.

About 30 years ago when the Southern Cal football team visited Columbia to play South Carolina, a banner hanging in the stadium stated:

Trojans Can't Cover Our 'Cocks.

I'm guessing that you would never see a banner like that these days.

Today I'm happy to be one of the "99%"...the 99% of people who actually think of a mountain lion when hearing the word 'cougar.'

This is simple insanity.

Or how about this? I opened YouTube this evening and the top video on the home page was a song by Micki Minaj called "Stupid Hoe."

Shouldn't this kind of language be criticized before a newly-made up bogus definition of the word cougar?
