Thought that might interest some guys here. I'm usually more into the player dev aspect but in that episode a college head coach talks a lot about recruiting, scholarships and so on

What I found particularly interesting is that the coach said when Giving out scholarships he considers a lot whether a player has the means to stay in the program the full 4 years and in that regard also considers non athletic money because he would hate it if the player realizes after a year that the costs despite the athletic money are still too high and he has to drop out then.

Because of that the coach likes to hear the plan of the player/parents to pay for it so he doesn't have to worry about that stuff.

In a quality travel program when targeting colleges affordability is part of the discussion. It means family income and grades have to be part of the discussion. It’s to determine how much money may come forward. Until family income hits a certain level almost no one is paying list price for college.
