West Florida (41-17) won the Gulf South Coast Tournament today in Millington Tennessee, USA Stadium as the #3 seed in the East going undefeated in the tournament. Along the way they defeat the #5 (#1 ranked in the South Region);#17;#18 (twice, Championship game)and #21 ranked teams in the Nation.

Phil Lawhorn(Salem 03 /Virginia Beach)picked up saves number 12,13 and 14; pitched in the ninth of the Championship game with no decision. Save #13 set a New school record.

Earlier in the week, he was named to the All-Conference First Team; leading the Conference in appearances (26) and saves (11).

I held onto that last bit until after the Tournament was over. Superstition, what superstition Wink

JT,

There is another Virginian on the Team, Jon Reed (Jr/OF). Jon is from Chesterfield and his profile says that he attended (Virginia-Wise) via L.C Bird HS.

His younger brother, Klint is on VMI's baseball team.
