We played our Bi-District Series there last year. Great facility for a Division 3. School is small and very religious, you need to know that going in. Not saying its bad, in fact, I think its a good thing. However, I know that does not appeal to everyone.

Coach Coleman does a great job there and he will take care of you and make sure you are doing what will be necessary to graduate.

It is a little pricey, but what private school isn't?

astromania,

I will echo Robert S. I don't know the coaching staff at MHB, but my son played a tournament game there in 2007 and the field is very cool and well maintained.

The campus is a quaint, small town atmosphere.

I can chime in on this one because I went to Mary Hardin-Baylor and know both Baseball Coaches very well...

Mary Hardin-Baylor has a wonderful campus setting with huge trees all around campus. Student body is over 2800 students now with most of those living on campus. I believe there are 2 guy dorms and the rest are ladies dorms. They do have the Tryon apartments which you can get into as a sophomore. The Girl to Guy ratio is awesome. I think it use to be 3 or 4 to 1 when I was there. It is a Baptist college and you do have to attend chapel once a week. They offer just about any degree program available and have a really good nursing and education department.

UMHB has a great football team. They play deep into the play-offs every year and played in the STAGG Bowl a couple of years back. There basketball team has come along way and is very good as well. They have a brand new Basketball Gym/Facility with a new weight room with all the bells and whistles. This building hosts the Kinesiology classes and coaches offices.

Coach Micah Wells is a great young coach. Micah is from Killeen where I also graduated from and was an excellent catcher in Highschool. He is a young guy which helps him relate well with his players.

Coach Derek Dunaway pitched at UMHB. He is the pitching coach and he set several records at UMHB during his playing days. Derek is also very young. He spent a couple of seasons as the pitching coach at East Texas Baptist. He has been at UMHB for 3 or 4 years now. Really good guy, easy to work with.

They have a new baseball/Softball complex that sits to the East of the campus. It overlooks some hills and is really a nice setting for baseball.

Again, it is a wonderful school with great academics and you are only 15 minutes from Killeen or Temple. Killeen is booming now and has everything you would need for entertainment. Austin is an hour South.

Don't let money scare you. They have plenty of financial aid to give. PM if you have any more questions I can answer.
