hey im a right fielder and whenever someone asks me what postion i play i say proudly that i do play right field and yet i get criticized for playing the "easy" position. i dont kno how many of you have ever played RF but it is not an easy postition with all of the coverages along with proper outfielding tequninques. if any of you guys have run into this i'd like to hear about it because its bull **** that we get made mocked for playing a difficult postion
The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America is ruled by it like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past.- Field of Dreams

I am not a player, I am a mom. From what I see it is the guy with the best arm that plays right field. I do think there is some sort of stigma attached to right field in the early years; not so later on. To see a right fielder throw to home for an out is amazing. I think you simply need to look beyond rec league perceptions and move on; proudly.
That kind of sterotyping is left over from your youth baseball days......In those days only the talented kids played infield, and right field since there are few left handed hitters was where you hid a poor player......

In higher baseball outfielders are athletes of the first order......there is no shame to play any outfield position.......
Any play in the outfield can have huge consequences. You make a error in the outfield, it usaly leads to extra bases and puts runneres in scoring postition; in the infield the batter rarley advances to second on an error, although the batter advancing to second on an overthrow can be pretty common. And how often do you see infielder have to charge a ball full speed and then gun it 200 feet?
