I would like to add my strong endorsement to Midlo Dad's. If you have the type of grades and academic record that qualify you for a strong academic school, you owe it to yourself to attend one of Headfirst's Showcases. My son attended in the summer of 07'at the Virginia Baseball Complex just north of Richmond. Not only was every school (and coach) advertised present, but many that were not on the list attended, as well. For example, as Midlo Dad noted, every single Ivy League school had coaches present, as well as the service academies. ACC powerhouses like Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Duke also were there. The number of top academic DIIIs from around the country was astonishing! I counted over seventy schools, as well as pro scouts. The organization of the showcase was phenomenal. Each school's coaches had a chance to address the players and their parents and talk about their schools and teams in between games. In terms of the games, the teams were small and positionally well-divided. Consequently, my son played in four full games and only sat out one inning! Over the two full days, he got a ton of at bats and chances in the field, and we could not have been happier with the results. He talked to a number of coaches from around the country during the showcase, and received many calls and letters from interested coaches immediately thereafter. The showcase is not inexpensive, but we believe it was worth every penny and then some. If you have a 4.05 GPA, as you mention, you certainly will want to attend one of Headfirst's Academic Showcases. Best of luck!
