There are more than 2 schools not doing HF this year. There are 7 schools (UPenn, Yale, Brown, Cornell, Georgetown, Richmond, Wake Forest) joining forces to do the GPA (grades plus athletics) baseball showcase.
I saw the news in an email. It's not good news for those planning on attending HeadFirst in the Northeast. GPA's showcases are in Illinois and Texas. For anyone interested in Ivies, All-Star runs an Ivy showcase. I haven't checked to see if it's scheduled for 2010.
MadDog - the two schools are GTown and Penn, I’m guessing. my son got the same emails as did several of his teammates (high school and summer ball). I wouldn’t read too much into the emails as the GPA schools are still going to be at Stanford's camp, and probably other camps too. they also (as stated in the emails) are running their own school camps and were trying to push those hard - maybe the hardest? - as well). looks like coaches are trying to get companies out of middle and make the $$ themselves?

I think that schools are looking at the $845 that HF charges and trying to find more affordable alternatives for them and their prospects. I am not sure if they are charging the schools to attend also. At some point the market will adjust and this is what is happening IMO. We have considered HF but at this point they are not worth the additional $$ to what we have planned for the summer and fall.
