I already got into my top choice school for baseball and academics, but it doesn't look like my family could afford it but nothing's for sure yet. These two other D3 schools, who I am very interested in, were impressed by my video. They both told me to contact them after admissions made their decision on me. Has anyone had this experience before? What could likely happen if I get accepted? Thank you.

Chris, IMHO more is better. Apply, see if they accept you and what scholarships you qualify for, but keep looking.

The more options you have, the more choices you have.
Hi Chris-

I might be saying something really obvious here, but be sure your parents file the FAFSA (and, if needed, the profile form) so that you are getting all available financial aid awards. Sometimes families are not aware of how much need based aid they will qualify for. And, once they get the intial award, tehy can talk to the financial aid office to appeal for more, which may or may not work, but you dn't know until you ask!

You seem to be asking, also, about what the coach means by 'contact me after you get in' at the D3s. For that answer you might want to search some earlier threads using words like ' D3 walk on" or 'D3 preferred walk on' or just get familiar with D3 conversations on this board in general. It sounds like those coaches might be interested in you but either couldn't, or wouldn't, offer support in admission. But there are some folks on this board who have had success going that route.

Good luck!

Question: Did you apply Early Decision at the first school?

If so, you are bound to the first school unless you can demonstrate that your family can't afford it. You may want to get this cleared up with the first school quickly, and possibly get something in writing from Admissions or Financial Aid office.

If you did not apply ED, all bets are off and you are free to pursue the other two schools.

Seperately there is the recruiting aspect with the other two schools. If you are accepted at the other two schools they will ask you for a deposit. Typically, it is a few hundred bucks. I would put a deposit down with the school I'm most intersted in, and plan to attend.

Good luck!
