Hello folks, i am new to the board having
just registered. my son is a junior base-
ball player at Loyalton High School, in
northern California. We are located 30
miles north of Truckee-Tahoe and 40 miles
west of Reno, NV., home of the UNR wolf-
pack applaude. I just stumbled upon this
sight and see tons of info and fabulous
insight through this message board. My son
has dreams of playing college baseball and
I am sure this will be of great value. I
look forward to learning and correspond-
ing with everyone here in the future.

Welcome Hotcorner, your life will never be the same.

Days will pass before your next meal. Your wife will think she is a widow. Your eyes will get blurry from staring at a computer screen. Your friends will think your mad at them because you haven't spoke to them in days.

This will pass in time. We have all suffered from this illness.

Its called HSBaseball web syndrome.

There is no cure but its manageable.

In the infamous words of the band The Eagles

"You can checkout anytime you like but you can never leave."

Seriously welcome to our village

The choices we make dictate the lives we lead.
Welcome, hc, lots of CA folk around here.

Don't forget to explore all the links and articles our Bob has gathered here for us, too. There's no better hs baseball web site anywhere.

hotcorner -

Welcome! I just found this site and they are all absolutely right: If you love baseball, you will be hooked!! I find a wealth of information, great topics, answers to my questions and some very interesting (and sometimes very amusing) conversations!!

I still do not know who Bob is; or infopop (could they be the same person?) And I don't know how to use the chat room - that's next!!

ENJOY!! Wink

Unless you're the MOM of 'lil Hot Corner in which case your HUSBAND might have to learn to cook dinner, clean the house, help with the homework, do the laundry and generally take over all the things you used to do before spending all your free time on HSBBweb

hotcorner ...

Welcome from So Cal.

Bob has done a wonderful job of compiling and disseminating a wealth of baseball knowledge on this site. Even if there is something you might not think you need now, you will always have a place to go for an answer when you DO need one.

As for this group of posters ... we are a friendly group and promote boasting and bragging about our "youngins" ... in addition to seeking and providing lots of help.

By the way, hotcorner, you have to be careful because people from outside the great state of California think a lot of us Left Coasters are a little off our collective rocker ... but that is okay. We love them anyway.

hotcorner,
glad you could make it! As a relative newcomer myself, I just wanted to say the folks here are very helpful. You'll get pros, cons, support, ideas, links, addresses, names, the whole shebang - all in the interest of developing ballplayers and helping them succeed in their aspirations. It's a GREAT site....and SeaDog said it best with his Eagle's lyric from Hotel California! I might add, "Please bring me my wine!!"

"Son, when you pitch a strike, Mr. Hornsby will let you know."
