Good luck to all the prospective players! Starts on Monday during the day at my son's HS in NoVA. Looks to be low 60s with a dry field. That's amazing.

I remember how nervous I was when my 2017 was trying out for the JV team in 2013, He's been the starting catcher since half-way through his sophomore year, and there is not much worry that will change (I think 6 or 7 of the starting positions will be returning seniors). But always good to see how the underclassmen look one year later, new freshmen and transfers, etc.

Although my new job and frequent travel will have me miss 5-6 games this Spring, I plan on trying to slow it down (impossible) and enjoy the last season of HS baseball!

Good luck to everyone.  Here in IL we are still 10 days away from "official" tryouts and about a month from our first game.  60's this week, but now they are predicting lower temps and snow starting next weekend.  Kids were hoping to get outside for tryouts next week, but it looks like we will be back in the fieldhouse.

Hopefully we have a good season.  We are returning 16 SR's.  Only 3 of them started last year, but thats due to our coaches preference as opposed to their ability to start.  This group of kids have only lost a total of 7 games over the course of their Frosh/Soph/JV careers; hopefully they can keep it up and make a run at a title.
