Itsrosy, it sure sounds like it. What's the problem with Play Ball posting? There are a handful of people on this board that promote their kids. Some people are just proud of their sons and rightfully so. Others are unrealistic and have blinders on. That's what makes the board informative. Atleast Play Ball doesn't hide behind a name and admits to who she is. Everybody should be proud of their sons accomplishments and have the right to share it with others.

Agree with you 100%...Part of the purpose of this board, at least in the Illinois Forum, is for parents/anyone to say positive things about their sons.

Those of you that don't like a mom posting about how proud she is of her son's performance...you may just be jealous and hoping that someone would post something about you.

Congrats, mom, dad, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather....Good for all of of you.

Totally agree. What is wrong with posting something positive about your son or someone who you know? I think that the only problem is when someone starts posting negative comments about someone,(Even other posters if that is the case) The negativity is uncalled for.

OK, so most of us on this thread see absolutely nothing wrong with a Mom, Dad or whomever giving their son's some props. Then doesn't it seem weird that a "new" stranger in town would come on to do just the opposite? Let's be negative for negative's sake?

Diane, please keep us informed of Jake's (and the rest of the team's) progress throughout the year. Jake is a great kid and very formidable on the mound. Hopefully we will meet up at a game this year, and we can catch up on several fronts.

Sull - Not to worry. Mike's hit some of the longest homeruns I have ever seen. Still remember some of the pitchers he's faced looking for neck braces....

Another rainout in the northern burbs for us. How is everyone else looking for today? Is anyone going to be able to play?

We finally got a chance to play today at the Evanston Triangular. Evanston vs. Lane, Lane vs. OPRF, OPRF vs. Evanston. We threw the ball real well (only 1 walk in 14 innings and 0 earned runs) and came out with a split.

Barrington over Huntley. Broncos are getting it done with smoke and mirrors.

Willowbrook over Naperville north last week, senior curtis hudson pitched 5 innings had 10 k's and got win in a 5-4 win. sophmore Chris Savas went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's

Chris has destroyed a lot of pitching over the years. No surprise there.

In Br Rice victory over LT today (16-15 in 8 innings) Rice started 5 juniors - 3 sophomores and 1 freshman.

Mykla - that was a lot of runs scored in that game by both teams - was it good hitting or bad pitching?

Who was in BR's linup?

I Don't understand how L.T. can throw thier number one and two pitcher's against Montini, and not against Ranked Brother Rice ?

Wiser words were never spoken! You get them the work when you can because tomorrow is not guaranteed. In our first game, we got 3 kids in. We will get another 2-3 in for our next game. We want a strong experienced staff when we hit conference. Anything else is just icing on the cake!

Downers South over Lockport 9-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Downers Grove South wins the second game of the doubleheader this afternoon with a score of 8-5 (or something like that according to my source)over Lockport. Downers Grove South is now 5-0 this season thus far.

Schaumburg is 2-0. Won the first game Saturday against Dundee Crown 10-0. Won their second game today 7-2 against Oak Park.

Waterloo starts the year off 1-0 with a 9-0 victory over Red Bud. Junior Brandon Koenigstien pitched 6 innings for the shut out.

The Bulldogs play Saint Charles North tomorrow, Altoff Wednesday, New Athens on Thursday, and will face Columbia and Nashville at Nashville to wrap up the week on Saturday.

I stopped by to watch some high school baseball today in Barrington. I don't think he will bring it up but fastballdad's son threw a nice game today, actually a no-hitter I believe against Jacobs high school. Nice job out there Clayton.
