Agree with baseballs50. Very few, if any, ccollege coaches asked for our son's stats from HS. They HAVE TO see your son in action, or get a report from someone they trust before they'll get serious about him.
However, a very impressive stat or number ?might? get a scout's or coach's attention. I'll just give this one example. Last year, a pro scout showed up at one of our son's games (he was a junior). I was wondering why, so I asked him. He said he had seen the strikeout numbers in the paper and had to see it for himself (son is a pitcher). He was not disappointed. But the point is, the strikeout numbers printed in the paper got his attention. The scout did NOT care about ERA, W/L, etc..., he just figured a kid with so many K's must have some heat.
I suppose if someone is hitting bombs week after week, that might attract attention too. But I doubt that much else will.
